Merry Christmas !

For Fashion Magazine NYC's glittering close to 2023, our Christmas edition features Valéria Oliveira Maximiano surrounded by haute couture creations by designers Maísa Gouveia and Natalia Gouveia.

This photoshoot was a great challenge and a wonderful experience. Wear one haute couture clothing in an environment that I designed is the representation of what I always I believed: the creative process of fashion and architecture go together.

I come from a Brazilian family of Portuguese and Italian origin and my journey begins since early in a vibrant environment with nine siblings, and an always full house. I grew up between city ​​and the countryside, nourishing my creative process in simple and playful games that shaped my worldview. Bringing this DNA into my professional life, I graduated in Interior Architecture and led to great opportunities, awards in Dubai, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Milan and samples at Casa Vogue, Casa Cor and Artefacto. I am currently specializing in Hotel Architecture. Architecture focused on hospitality and a search for solutions innovative ways of living with quality of life at home or traveling.

The experience in the field during my childhood also sparked my interest in environment and for developing a forest conservation project a few years ago. A Nature and spirituality are pillars of my life and influence my creative process. Yoga and meditation practices have always been moments of inspiration for me and my partner. development of my work.

I experience architecture, design, art and fashion every day. An outfit has the power to make us representing and empowering, can make us feel freer and more fulfilled, as well as a environment, whether designed by humans or nature itself. It's all interconnected. It was enriching and an honor to participate in the rehearsal with the haute couture of Maísa Gouveia and Natalia Gouveia.
