PLATINUM COATED COLLECTION INSPIRATION

“Know you want to fill the room cause it’s platinum coated”, inspired by the Lil Kim lyric, I wanted to create a monochromatic platinum 1950’s inspired set that captured all the opulence and decadence of that time. I wanted to give the clothes the modern appeal with dazzling sexy silhouettes and looks reminiscent of the period all dipped in platinum.

MEET THE DESIGNER RANDAL STEPHEN

Randal Stephen, born in New Brunswick, raised in the city of Newark, New Jersey, got his start cutting paper silhouettes of dresses at the age of 15 for his 7th grade teacher. With his growing creative mind, he then went to attend Arts High School, a performing arts school where he able to explore his creativity. It was there then after Ms. Iovino his teacher from the 7th grade, purchased him a sewing machine that completely changed his life. Since then, Randal has taught hisself how to sew and began making and designing clothes by his sophomore year of high school. A ambitious and determined young man, Randal started his clothing line capturing the attention of TV personalities Nancy “Mama Jones” Jones from Vh1’s hit TV show Love & Hip Hop & Ramona Rizzo from Vh1’s Mobwives. Randal has been keeping busy, being one of the most sought out designers in his community for custom prom gowns and bridal couture.

Stephen’s work is sexy, exudes confidence, and is a sure show stopper, his inspirations come from all things Fashion, Art and Beauty. With his compelling eye for detail, and beautifully crafted couture Randal’s work will captivate the attention of every eye in the room. He believes his purpose as a Black Designer is to encourage and motivate as well as advocate for representation. His goals are to continue to create, and inspire people through his work.
