MEET THE INTERNATIONAL DESIGNER GLENKORA COMTE

Glenkora Comte is an Ecuadorian designer based in Washington, D.C. She has 17 years of experience in fashion design, with an emphasis on Sustainable Fashion.

Born in Guayaquil-Ecuador.

She launched her design career in Quito with the Ritual Fashion Event in 2007. In 2008 she created “Fashion on the Dance Floor,” a unique fashion show concept combining fashion and music for Converse in Ecuador.

In 2012, Glenkora represented Ecuador and launched her international career at the MIAMI BEACH INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEK with her “Ecuador Loves Life” (Ecuador Ama la Vida) collection. Her collection fused hand-loomed artisanal fabrics combined with Lenzing’s TENCEL, an ecological fabric. She also featured footwear made with recycled techniques and Tagua accessories with her collection, which was showcased on Fashion TV.

To date, Glenkora has presented her collections in New York Fashion week 3 times, dressing celebrities and misses, and promoting sustainable fashion. She is a woman with a passion for design, as seen through her fashion editorials, fashion blogs, cover magazines, fashion videos and reality TV shows.

In 2022 Glenkora Comte presented her Fashion Film at FDLA- Fashion Designer of Latin America, which was recognized as one of the best platforms of the New York Fashion Week by the Council of Designers of America.

She designed the costume dress for Miss New York America 2020 Yasmeen Gumbs, The iconic

Hollywood actress Rebecca Staab, part of the cast in the famous Netflix series The Night Agent, currently filming in the season finale of SuperMan and Lois, and the award-winning journalist Lisa Guerrero, among other celebrities.

Glenkora expresses her unique style using fashion shows and editorials- to communicate, create awareness and set trends. Glenkora finds inspiration in travel, architecture, art, culture and fashion. The use of pantone color is her specialty, the colors inspire her in each collection developed, encouraging sustainable fashion worldwide.

VINTAGE LOVE IN LOUISIANA COLLECTION

Inspired by the architecture of the French Quarter’s- New Orleans, Louisiana, one of the most historic neighborhoods and considered one of the most romantic destinations in the world were her inspiration for creating a collection based on the femininity of the women of the fifties.

Glenkora travels back in time using original sewing patterns of the time, applying recycling and tailoring techniques by herself, representing a classic and clean proposal. Styles that embrace traditional delicacy in a modern way for the woman who loves Vintage Fashion.
