ANITA ZAUNER Unique Leather Bags Conquer the Streets of New York

DRYENNE MIRANDA

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

MEET ANITA ZAUNER:

I am based in Lower Bavaria where I live with my family.

I have been fascinated by fashion and creativity for as long as I can remember. Following an apprenticeship at German fashion company Betty Barclay (focusing on management) I have been able to complete further training in the creative sector:

In the nineties

I spent time in Cape Town (South Africa) and Sydney (Australia)

I relocated to Munich for a year where I studied at ‘Müller & Sohn - Academy für Design und Schnitttechnik’

and I completed a continuing professional development programme at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London (UK)

In the early 2000s my designs were shown as part of a fashion show in Munich with Hugo Boss.

I also received an award by a well-known German fashion magazine for the most creative jacket/the most creative item.

Over the past few years I have started to increasingly work with leather, designing unique, one-off bags.

As part of my collaboration with Pia Bolte my leather bags have appeared alongside Pia’s designs at photo shoots and fashion shows all over the world, in New York, Dubai, Tokyo, Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich.

My designs have appeared in a number of fashion magazines.

Background to the different bags:

My bags always have at least two different sides to them, and there are different ways to wear them:

Orange - four different sides - reversible *handle: fun with stars and smile *straps: elegant with glitter.

Black - front: glitter-glamour inspired by NY Times Square; back: the lightness of a butterfly

Squares – inspired by my first visit to NYC, the different districts and the street grid system in Manhattan
