Brazilian actress and singer Jeniffer Setti, known in music as JEY, found success with her song “O Grito” in partnership with Angela Ro Ro and Zezé Motta. She has become an activist, increasingly engaged in movements that fight for the defense and rights of women.
“I am happy to sing songs that raise such an important flag, which is the cause of women! There are strong women and there are women who have not yet discovered their strength, ”says Jey.
Always involved in issues surrounding the female force, Jey dedicates the space and the opportunity she has as an artist to the causes she believes in. For her last two projects, Jey invited the actor Sidney Sampaio, with whom she acted in the soap opera "Os Dez Mandamentos" from Rede Record, to give life to the aggressor in the music video for the track entitled "Decision". "My intention in this project is to make women aware of the importance of taking action against the aggressor. Many women do not speak for fear of the consequences. Music helps strengthen the decision that needs to be made, to say no to this type of treatment that is not only physical, but also psychological. I feel very happy to talk about this topic, to be able to show the public my point of view, what I feel when I talk about women, about our expectations, our fears and 'Decision' represents a lot of what I think, it is very important for me to have the freedom and the opportunity to do a job like this.” explains Jey.
The singer Zezé Motta, proud of the result of the work, declared “Any demonstration in favor of women's struggle, as long as I am in my profession, I will be present. This fight is daily and is like a mission.” Ângela Ro Ro recognizes that the challenges are natural and that we must never be discouraged. “As a woman and an artist, challenges have always been part of my life, but the biggest challenge is to continue being what I am day by day and trusting me, because self-confidence makes us winners in all other challenges”.
This Women's History Month, Jey joined forces with Zezé Motta and Ângela Ro Ro to give voice to his new hit “O Grito”, a strong song that is impacting women with regard to the struggle for empowerment. In less than 24 hours of release, the clip reached 500 thousand views.
The three singers and actresses came together to give voice to the single in a strong and empowered partnership, they talk about the history of women's struggle and refer to the book “The women who run with the wolves”. The strong scenes reminiscent of the witches who were burned in the inquisition, played by Jey, reaffirm her talent in acting as well.
“Whenever there is a union of forces in search of a cause that is capable of changing society in a positive way, the current naturally spreads. There is a struggle for every transformation, we have been committed to improving our history for a long time. I believe in our strength!” says Jey.
Even during the pandemic, the artist did not stop producing. After her last TV feature TV Globo's “Dona do Pedaço”, Jey has been dedicating herself more than ever to the causes of women through music. A atriz e cantora brasileira,Jeniffer Setti, conhecida na música como JEY, vem se tornando uma ativista, cada vez mais engajada nos movimentos que lutam pela defesa da mulher!

A música vem para fortalecer a decisão que precisa ser tomada, em dizer não a esse tipo de tratamento que não é só físico, é também psicológico. Eu me sinto muito feliz por falar desse tema, de poder mostrar ao público o meu ponto de vista, o que eu sinto quando falo da mulher, das nossas expectativas, nossos medos e 'Decisão' representa muito o que eu penso, é muito importante pra mim poder ter a liberdade e a oportunidade de fazer um trabalho como esse.” Explica Jey.
Em seu último clipe lançado neste mês da Mulher, Jey uniu forças com Zezé Motta e Ângela Ro Ro, para dar voz ao seu novo hit “O Grito” , uma música forte que está impactando as mulheres no que diz respeito à luta pelo empoderamento. Em Menos de 24 horas de lançamento o clipe alcançou a marca de 500 mil views.
As três cantoras e atrizes se juntaram para dar voz ao single em uma parceria forte e empoderada, elas falam sobre a história de luta das mulheres e fazem referência ao livro “As mulheres que correm com os lobos”. As cenas fortes e que lembram as bruxas que foram queimadas na inquisição, interpretadas por Jey, reafirmam seu talento também na atuação.
