FMN - What is your greatest weakness, as a model? What are you doing to improve on it?
FRANCESCA - I think my greatest weakness in modeling is my shyness. I am by nature, a shy person and it takes me a minute to get comfortable in front of the camera. I’ve been doing a lot of collaborative work lately and it has really given me a great opportunity to to come out of my shell and grow as a model. Each photographer has given me such great advice on my modeling techniques and hopefully that will help me with future work.
FMN - Who inspires you in the industry and why?
FRANCESCA - Kendall Jenner! I am so inspired by her. I love her style, her work ethic and her dedication. She is shy and reserved, and that helps shows models like me who are also shy, that you can still be successful in the modeling world.
FMN - Which designers would you like to work and why?
FRANCESCA - I would love to work with Gucci one day! To model their clothing would be a dream. I love their contemporary style with its hint of vintage. Gucci’s style is so fun and interesting.
FMN - What goals would you like to achieve in 2021?
FRANCESCA - My goal for 2021 is to grow as a model professionally. Being a newly signed model, I know I have a lot to learn in this industry. I’m hoping to form more relationships and learn from everyone I meet.
FMN - What is your personal style?
FRANCESCA - My personal style depends on the occasion. My everyday style is usually based on comfort. I’m a lover of oversized sweatshirts! But I love to wear elegant shoes and trendy outfits for dinner and social events.
FMN - How do you keep in shape?
FRANCESCA - I try to work out at least 2-3 times a week, nothing too crazy. A little bit of cardio which is usually the treadmill or an online cardio workout. Just recently I’ve started using a weighted hula hoop...and that’s a lot of fun!
FMN - Who are your favorite designers?
FRANCESCA - That’s a hard question! I just think there are so many well known, successful designers. I don’t think I can pick just one or two. Gucci obviously. Chanel would also be at the top of my list. There’s just too many to list.
FMN - Favorite photographers?
FRANCESCA - Well, since I’m so new to the modeling world, I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to work with too many photographers; especially because of Covid. I follow a lot of photographers on Instagram and I would be honored to work with many of them! I did enjoy working with Lola from @gk_lolastreet because she really took time to explain to me which poses work best. She explained what works in photos and what doesn’t. I really learned a lot with her. And she’s an amazing photographer!
FMN - Why did you choose to pursue a career as a model?
FRANCESCA - Honestly, I just love everything about fashion in general, as far as what’s trending in clothes, hair and makeup. My whole life I’ve been told by friends and family that I should pursue modeling and so one day I just decided to do it! So I sent my digitals out to dozens of different modeling agencies and after about a year of continually doing that... EMG Models reached out to me and I decided to sign with them. And hopefully the best is yet to come.
I am Francesca Serapiglia, but everyone calls me Frenchy. I am 16 years old and I am a junior in high school. My journey as a professional model has just begun.
I am looking forward to many opportunities in the future that will hopefully allow me to make modeling a full time job that I love!
