Today we sit down to chat with singer and songwriter, Axandra. Join us as we talk inspiration, beauty secrets, and her new EP!
My name is Axandra. i’m 18 years old and i’m from New Jersey. Music has always been a huge part of my life ever since I was young. Though neither of my parents are musicians, they both are huge music lovers and so that made me discover how much i loved music. I started doing musicals when I was around 10 years old and discovered that I love to perform on stage. I was originally just dancer but then when I started to mix singing with it ,I noticed how much I loved it. I then started performing for political events, fundraisers and different events around my hometown. I have performed at venues such as Prudential Center and The Red bulls arena. I started writing my own songs about 2 years ago and I currently have an EP called “Brighter Now” out on all musical platforms. Writing my own songs has had to be one of the best experiences in my career because i discovered so much about myself as an artist. As an artist, my overall goal is to inspire others to go towards their dreams and goals and that all they need is hard work and persistence.
1. How did you get into the music industry?
I have always loved music and singing for as long as I can remember. I have always involved myself in anything music related whether that was auditions, talent shows and social media. It was only until last year however, when I came out with my first set of original songs. I am still not in the position I want to be in yet but I am working towards it everyday!
2. Where do you look for inspiration?
Anything and everything in life inspires me. Whether I am going through a hard time or I am having an amazing season in my life, I grab inspiration anywhere! I am inspired by the people I meet as well, regardless of how close I am to them. Other music artists and influencer have also inspired me!
3. Your EP is now out! What was your favorite part of the process?
My favorite part of creating my EP was definitely writing the songs and then seeing them come to life. To me, nothing compares to seeing one of your ideas become something so real. Seeing everyone's feedback and reactions to the EP was also something so special.
4. Where are your favorite places in NYC/NJ?
I love going to Soho in New York because of the amazing spots they have for photography and shopping. New York in general, is one of my favorite cities to go to.
5. What are some of your beauty secrets?
I would say a huge part about beauty is skincare. Before all the glam of makeup, taking care of your skin is a huge part of maintaining your most beautiful self. I would say for me, I always choose products that are fit for my type of skin and I always make sure to wash my makeup off at night everyday. Taking care of your mental health by focusing on the positive side of things is yet another beauty secret I have because I believe if a person is truly happy, their beauty will shine through.
