New York City-based fashion company Maria Elena Couture (MEC) was launched by fashion designer Maria Elena Piña Fonti in 2014. Maria Elena melds fashion and lifestyle – blending the influences and inspirations in her life to create exquisite luxury designs that have been described as luxurious, eye-catching, and inimitable. Using a variance of vivid colors, distinctive shapes and sizes, and fashionable prints, Maria Elena’s creations are intended to enhance a woman’s beauty and empower her independent inner spirit.
“The inspiration of my designs come from the environment of my past (memories) and present and perhaps the thoughts of my future and its surroundings. Ingrained in all of them is the melodic expression of colors and their deep relationship to the psyche of the person and to the soma, that is, the body,” says Maria Elena.

The brand’s new Mimmo & Lola couture collection formally launched in 2019 and is now available online on MEC’s website. It joins the company’s [ME] handbag collection, which features designer leather and fabric bags.
In September 2019, MEC will light up runways at fashion shows during New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, and is showcasing the MEC collection at Tuileries Showroom Paris.
